I concur with the Road 6 advice, i ran the Road 5 and they are a fine tyre, but the 6's offer a considerable upgrade on the front tire in particular. The 5's were a great tyre, but the addition of the revised carcass on the 6's make for greater confidence when pushing on a little, i was pleased...
I do have one of these already, but would prefer to use Bobbins as i feel it holds the bike more securely. I did fit the axle bobbins as mentioned above, but as you cant use them when removing the rear wheel i gave up on the idea, its a minor quibble,
My coolant looked somewhere between the first and second bottle on the right in your first pic, I’d say. If yours is still the original coolant on a 2014 bike, it’s definitely possible it’s just degraded and darkened over time.
My radiator fan has kicked in from day one as well (I bought the...
i really wish there was a way to put bobbins in the swing arm though, had some that go onto the axle bolts, but then they are useless when you need to get the back wheel off.
All done! managed to get the system pretty much empty, needed to use a syphon pump down the filler cap to clear out the Rad though, Just been out for a bit of a run and the temps look good, fan engaged as normal, everything seems to be good! Thanks for the advice folks!
Well this is perfect timing! I Plan to do my first one on monday or Tuesday! Its overdue now as i have had the bike 4 and a bit years! (I do like to live dangerously!) I still need to get some Distilled water though, can i ask how much you used for flushing? i was planning to get 5 Litres?
Nice Bike! Welcome to the Forum. I would point you towards the Resources section where there are several Workshop and Owner manuals that are tremendously Useful.
Have you looked at doing a PAIR valve delete if you haven't already? I have seen a few posts on here about excessive Pops and bangs caused by this with aftermarket exhausts? Not sure the engine will be running excessively lean just from the exhaust tbh, unless you have modified the air intake...
Hope this is allowed — if not, please remove with my apologies.
If you’re looking for an amazing winter break with truly spectacular roads, I can’t recommend Canary Motorcycle Tours highly enough.
This was a trip I’d been planning for months, and it exceeded my expectations in every possible...
I Paid £140 for mine, admittedly this was 4 years ago now, but that seems extreme. I would suggest looking for a local Independent maybe? As long as they use genuine parts, you should be fine warranty wise? just a suggestion.
I recently replaced the front and rear pads on mine and bled both systems to refresh the fluid.
I actually used this bleed kit to get the job done. It was cheap enough, and although the seals aren't the best quality, I found that using a small cable tie to tighten the connections worked to...
I don't blame you, my mechanic said he has never adjusted one at 16K Miles (24K KM), so it made sense that this had been changed to 24K Miles (36K Km) and there does seem to be a strong consensus on here that unless you are having Issues it will almost certainly be fine.
Personally i felt i had...
Official 2014–2018 Spec: The service manual for the 2016 CBR650F explicitly lists the valve clearance inspection every 16,000 miles (25,600 km).
The 2021+ Update: Starting with the 2021 CBR650R, Honda officially extended the interval to 24,000 miles (38,400 km).
The '50,000 km' I cannot find 50k...
