If they put an ECU from a ABS/traction version in, I think the problem is solved.
Its just dumb that it doesnt work from the factory. You would think they would have found that problem before shipping out all the bikes. I agree with MrFritz86 that throwing an ecu in from the abs and tc model might cause issues.

Yeah probably because the ECU doesn’t see the ABS and TC on these bikes! Damn Honda really didn’t think this true

Changing the ECU did not fix it, as expected
They’re going to get a model expert down the dealer to take a look at the bike
Also they said, Honda is trying to compare the European model to the US model to see if they spot any differences
And looking at the softwares as well in the ECUs

Well I was expecting that response tbh. I guarantee it’s a software issue. Hoping they find the problem and put out a recall to get the ecu reflashed.

I think it’s a SW issue too, they probably forgot to enable it on this model 😅
I’m just shocked how long it takes to fix it
If it’s gonna take me that long to fix a printer, the customer is probably gonna place it in the parking lot and buy a different brand
Gonna make a huge complaint out of this, a company like Honda should not let the customers down this much for such a small thing.

Exactly! It really gave me a sour taste towards honda, but let’s hope they do the right thing and fix this ASAP. I really enjoy this bike but I spent 250 dollars on a part that doesn’t work

Called Honda today complaining that is unacceptable they can't still figure it out.
Dealer called me last week asking for the QS Invoice.

The customer service guy asked when was the last time I heard from the dealer and I told him that the issue is not the dealer, it's Honda!!
They said a manager will get in touch with me in the next 24hours.

This is really testing my patience.

I know your pain. Contacted my dealer and haven’t had a response from them yet. Also contacted Honda and they never replied to me. Really shitty customer service if you ask me

They called me back and here is the story

either get a refund for the QS or have it replaced to see if it's going to fix it.

and if it doesn't fix it, I still have the option to get a refund.

He kept saying it's too early to answer my question to why it's not working and at the end the answer could be that the bike it's just not compatible.

This is Honda...

That's the thing, I told him that it does not work like that

I wanna know why it does not work, I won't settle for a simple it's not compatible.
In EU it's working, why not in US?
What if the early US models are in somehow defective units?

He also said that most likely I won't get that answer and the only option is a refund.

I'm starting to understand why here in the US people hate so much Honda. At the beginning I just could not understand the reasons.

They list the bike as compatible and then when it doesn’t work won’t fix it. Everywhere else in the world it works except here. Seems to me like it’s an ecu problem

It's the same story over here in Europe with Honda's customer service. Honda always try to hide behind the dealers. They don't reply or they are rude and don't give you a straight answer. I think it's bullshit that the us bikes can't work with the Quick shifter, Honda just isn't honest about the real reason, I think they left something out of the none abs bikes to work with the Quick shifter (ecu software, or a hardware part on the ecu) to skip cost. A simple reply from Honda to give you guys a refund so they don't have to fix the real issue isn't going to work.

Dealer called me asking if I could bring them the lever/rod shifter bc they’re sending the ecu and QS in Japan
Also working on getting me a refund for the QS

really looks like they are putting a band aid

Well, that sucks, but if it's going to Japan, it appears they are trying to see WHY it doesn't work

So after bringing in the lever/rod last Thursday, and haven't heard anything back from the dealer, I called them today and asked when the bike would be ready, and "oh your bike is ready and you can come pick it up whenever you want".
This Howard's Honda in Nashville is probably one of the worst dealers I ever dealt with.

So Honda is gonna refund me the QS, they will send both QS and ECM to Japan and they'll let us know what's going on when they figure it out.
Obviously Honda is covering all the parts (new ECM installed) and labor.
