So the title says it all really. I am just hoping to get some thoughts on this change just before I do it. I have had friends tell me ooo that's a big jump and one that claims to be a bike "god" ... says even just 2 on the rear would make a world of difference.

I have a new 15 tooth sprocket and 14 tooth sprocket along with a new 45 for the rear. I will probably try both and post the results here. Sadly I don't have a new 42T and I don't want to use my old one to test even if its for a few miles its pretty beaten up. (I also kinda know what 15T & 42T feels like now after 37k miles)

My goal really was to just to get some more torque as I'm struggling to keep up with the big boys in my group especially coming out of a bend on a twisty road. Yes I know I can carry more speed through the corner but im not a bike god and I don't fancy needing to commit to every corner like a motogp rider. I am looking for rather then a bog down coming out of a corner being in too high
of a gear or screaming the revs by being to low. I would like to be able to power out nicely.

I am also curious to the front end coming up I don't want to be coming out of a bend popping wheelies every second I have no idea if this a just thought or not.

Yes im aware speedo healer / less top end / bad fuel economy looking for thoughts / feedback from people that have actually changed their gearing and what their response to it is.

Cheers guys and gals :)

There are several running threads already on this topic. I‘m closing this one and redirecting you to this one in particular to join in: https://650f.bike/threads/change-size-of-front-sprocket.2985/#post-33623

miweber929 @miweber929 has discussed this several times over the years. Feel free to hit him up.

Not to discourage you but keeping up with other bigger bikes will be difficult on these, they just don’t make that kind of power, sprocket change or not.
