Hi all first time posting on here so be nice 😝

I bought a new 2021 CBR 650r in November and have just bought a Akrapovic exhaust for it.
So today I decided to make a start on the disassemble of the old exhaust and when it come time to undo the o2 sensor I followed the wiring and it just had a plug on it with some plastic cap thing on it. (See pic 1)

So I’m thinking Honda have worked out a Bluetooth oxygen sensor lol

But in all seriousness is anyone else had this on there CBR’s?? And can I just plug off the o2 hole on the new exhaust??

P.S the bike has been Derestricted (because Aus are silly and don’t sell the full power one) and I’ll be getting a touch up tune done. E8390E19-3210-4190-81BB-07F96A42E88E.jpegE39C0F7B-A610-4B48-922D-BB0F2F05AA89.jpeg

Was the bike new-new, or just new to you? If the latter, did you have it derestricted, or - if the former - done by a previous owner?

Typically, O2 sensors that are disabled/unregistered like that are done when a tuner flashes the ECU to run in open-loop operation - using pre-set fuel tables instead of making further micro-adjustments from dynamic O2 sensor input readings. If that is the case, and you aren't throwing any codes as a result, you can plug the O2 sensor hole in the exhaust as you wish.

New new only 3kms on the clock.
When I got the bike turned the guys changed out the air intake trumpets put in a k&n filter and played with the fuelling all with the stock exhaust.
Never had a problem with the bike throwing codes so I might just plug it off.
