Excellent post.
Here's one I enjoyed a bit ago. Under 10 minutes, talks about why stock exhausts aren't just garbage (though can be upgraded of course).

Nice one. I like that he listed a good amount of pros and cons to each system.
Something that should be added for our forum readers is that we seem to have 2 types of "back pressure"
One that is a resistance to gas flow, as shown in the 1st video where he talks about pipes that are too narrow. The other with comes from the manipulation of sound waves, as when the pipe diameter increases or a valve is inserted.
Additionally, I've just watched their videos on lubing steering head bearings and using WD40 on chain O-rings. That's a good channel with a straight forward presentation. Thanks for posting it.

Nice video to help people learn that modern EFI bikes need different tuning. I've replaced a lot of pipes for more power. Now just to save weight and sound cool!! My CBR650F was about silent until I put on the new Akrapovic exhaust.
I'd like an akra every once in a while, but do prefer the quiet of the stock pipe.
I prefer the weight saving of an aftermarket pipe.
The sound is just a bonus.

My father had a custom Arrow exhaust installed on his Triumph Tiger Sport because he didn't like the look of the original exhaust. The dealer removed the dB limiter but my father actually had them put it back in again. He said the loudness of the sound was too much on extended rides. So I guess that's something to consider as well. It's probably neat if they can hear you coming from three blocks away, but if you end up hurting your own ears, it's not worth it.
But what's the point in an ultra loud exhaust?

I do love loud exhausts! I'm just glad I don't have the fatigue of one after an hour+ on the highway

Brammers, how much weight is saved?
I watched one of the MCGarage videos on batteries. He talked about saving weight by switching to a lithium battery, although there are some other disadvantages.
Hmm. If I do both, I could eat twice as much ice cream...
My TBR is something like 8kgs lighter than stock. I imagine he akra wouldn't be much different.

I would like to know if anybody has found the bike handles better with the new light weight exhaust, side mounted or underslung item.

The standard exhaust is about 10.5 kilos and aftermarket are about 5ish is that correct.

I may have to think hard about 7 to 9 hundred pounds for 5 kilos plus a pcv.I did think about fitting a 2017 exhaust system what are your thoughts on that,I don't particularly like the looks that much.
I put an exhaust on, I'm saving for a pcv now.
No need to do it all at once!
