So just got myself a used 2019 CBR650R completely stock. Only mod I’m wanting to do is making exhaust. My question is, does getting a full system vs just a slip on make the bike that much louder? I’m new to the 650 community and also don’t know if they make a cat delete pipe or something along those lines. I’m a little tight on budget. I don’t really care for the performance, I don’t plan on getting a fuel tuner or reflash. Just want it to sound really good.

I don't think there any many (or any) options available for slip-ons for the CBR650R. A full exhaust is the way to go.

If you're on a bit of a budget, have a look at Black Widow exhausts ( https://www.blackwidowexhausts.co.uk )
They are from the UK, good build quality, and half the price of most other exhaust systems. If you have a poke around this forum, there a few reviews and generally people seem to love them. There are LOADS of different designs/fitments available.

I bought my black widow and shipped it to Australia, only took just over a week. Also, because you're international, you won't pay VAT (English stamp duty) so comes out pretty cheap. I paid roughly AUD$800 for a full exhaust (including delivery) - Any Akrapovic or similar costs over AUD$1600 here, so i consider them great!

Recently got my bike dyno-tuned, the tuner had never seen Black Widow before but was seriously impressed with the performance. I have my baffle-out, dynotuned, and now my bike is stupid loud, and spits flames at high RPM. Love it.

Also, all required install equipment/instructions are provided with your order, highly recommend, check them out!

Thanks so much for the response. I just took a quick look at them, sorry if this is a stupid question but what’s the difference between them. I see that there’s different can styles, but is the “mm” size just the size of the piping ?

I believe the 'mm' is referring to the length of the actual muffler on the end of your exhaust.
There's also "low-level" exhausts, i.e. sits snug under the bike like your stock exhaust does.

I actually got confused by this myself, and ordered the wrong exhaust, I wanted a low-level but ending up getting a sidepipe. (I still like it anyway)

I got this: https://www.blackwidowexhausts.co.u...ack-stainless-carbon-tip-silencer-46699-p.asp
(See attached photos of my bike)

Check out this EnglishBikerDan review, he's got a low-level fitted to his CB in this video:
Yes it's for a CB, but the overall fitment is pretty much the same. You get the idea of how it would look on a CBR.

There are no bolt-on, slip on exhausts or cat delete pipes for this bike due to the exhaust design. You’ll have to cut and modify or buy a full system.

No slip-ons that I can see here in Australia, although on our eBay there are, but mostly they are shipped from China. I purchased a slip-on for my KTM ADV390 from Aliexpress.com, all up for just over $150 Australian, and have since fitted it. It looks great, quality seems good, sounds good, and was super cheap! (Photo below, you can order without the 'name brand' sticker if you want) I don't know about longevity, will see, but for that price, compared to the ADV390 slip-ons available here that are around $500 mark, I am prepared to take the risk. So to my main point, there are a number of slip-ons with link-pipe on Aliexpress.com for very little cost. Here's one example:
Just search aliexpress.com for cb650r slip on exhaust (for example) and take a look.
I know some people won't like ordering and supporting China for things like this, and if you have the money of course it's great to support your home country's manufacturing industry, but if you can't afford it, many things we use in daily life come indirectly from China anyways I guess?

I cannot see anyway that you could fit a slip-on to a stock CB/CBR setup without chopping and modifying the exhaust, The shape of the muffler is all wrong.

I agree, go for the Chinese stuff if you need to, but frankly I'd be very weary of it. You might pay, then wait a month for shipping just to find out that its completely wrong and fake- Good luck trying to get your money back! 😂

I'd just get someone to modify the stock exhaust, i like the look/placement of it. Very modern but it could do with a slight noise increase. My TNT125 is louder than it!

That’s not a slip on linked but a cut your stock up and hope this one seals ok until it blows apart when you will have nothing left but blown out ears pipe.

If you want to buy from wherever, its your business. But don’t willingly support knockoffs, that’s just bad for everyone.

Anybody know the diameter of the stock pipe where you cut the CAT?

ie. Where the slip-on pipe will fit after removing the CAT?

I'm trying to find a reasonably priced slip-on and refuse to give AR €700 for a piece of pipe....mad money!
