Fitted a rad guard

Weather not too good here so I fitted the rad guard I’d ordered. R&G one, strange sticky foam as others have commented on that you cut into strips and fit to the back of it. It’s a very tight fit against the two ends of the rad, any tighter and I wouldn’t have pushed it all the way home. Also gave the chain and rear sprocket a thorough clean (toothbrush style!) as it’s that boring a day here! Was going to take the front sprocket cover off, but I see it needs the gear linkage disconnecting to get the plastic cover off, unless anyone knows a faster or other way.

Note there is a little dot on the gear shift shaft, to help you spot where it goes, when you want to attach it back. Helps save you time trying to figure out the right position.

Cheers buddy, I’ll have a look for that. I didn’t want to get it back in the wrong place on the splines and end up with the lever in a different position.

All in the service manual ;)

You can see the punch mark (the dot). Just make sure it's in line with the gap on the left when you re-fit. Having just done this to fit the Racetorx gear shift support (yes I joined the club for all those that frequent the UK CBR650R owners group lol) I can vouch it's a very easy process.

Cheers that’s very helpful, I have a Haynes manual but not a service manual. Is the latter easy to obtain? I always like to use the correct torque settings to prevent damage and/or serious injury!
