Hey guys, been a while since l have spoken on this forum but no I’m not dead. Had an accident that basically ruined my bike and broke 2 vertebrae clips and my left leg... however thou shall not be defeated and I’m considering buying a CBR650R. The mods l already have price checked are the quickshifter and seat cowl as they are parts l want OEM. However l have been looking everywhere for a good exhaust from a reputable brand and a nice pair of frame sliders and protection for the bike. If anyone has parts they can list or link please feel free too as it would save me from dying and not knowing whether or not l can get frame sliders for when I purchase the bike and if l have to be super careful or not haha. I did drop my other bike 20 minutes after the dealership soooo any help would be appreciated.

Glad you survived and welcome back!!!

You’ll probably have to wait for specific sliders to come out, I don’t think they are around yet, but the frame is similar enough something from an F may work. What ones did you have on your bike?

Exhaust seem to be transferable from the F as well. Several ‘19 owners have pipes already, I’ve seen Akra and Black Widow so far so look at them to start. Again, what was on your previous bike? That may still work, you may want to email the manufacturer.

Thanks man appreciate it! For my old CBR it didn’t have an exhaust even though I planned on getting the akra and the frame sliders weren’t on it as l also was getting Oggy Knobs. I’ll try speak to dealers here about what they have but good to know most are transferable possibly. Thanks for the help

Akrapovic is developing a new exhaust system for the 2019 models.
Regarding frame sliders I heard R&G Aero Crash protectors are good, and I saw a tweet the other day of them releasing to the 2019 models.

Evotech has good looking siders for the cbr650r
They come from across the pond so not sure how much they will cost to get to the US

Also the SC project exhaust looks pretty damn good with the twin pipes - as others have said the long single pipe that leads to the twin mufflers looks a little eh but it is a good option
Stock exhaust sounds great above 6k rpm but below that is almost silent
My 2018 ninja 650 has the same problem with the underslung exhaust - very limited options
