Hey there everyone. My name is Vanta and I just snagged myself a leftover new 2018 CB650F this morning. Been swooning over this bike since I’ve came across it at a dealer a few years back. I’ve owned a CB500F prior to this and a Rebel 250 prior to that. I’ve got a simple question.

Anyone else notice vibration sounds coming from the gas tank area? Just put in my first 50 miles today and noticed it come on during idle and while maintaining low speeds. It goes away during acceleration. I read somewhere on here that maybe some Velcro has gotten loose but not too sure where to look/how to access.

Been wanting this bike forever and now I’m happy to finally own this bad boi. It plan to keep this as my forever bike. Oh, I also ride a 2017 CB1100EX. It’s not mine but I ride more than my brother who is the owner. This is by far the more competent bike for the streets. The hydro clutch and bipolar fuel map on his bike makes low speed maneuvers a little sketch to say the least.

Welcome to the forum Vanta

As I too have only just purchased my bike I'll leave the technical question to the more knowledgable members.

Hello and welcome!!!!

My guess is what you are hearing is the PAIR valve. Everyone hears it slightly different, but if it's an almost "tapping" or "ticking" sound that is quite prevalent at idle but goes away as you pass say 3,000 rpm then I am sure that's it. Unless you black them the best bet is to learn to ignore them :)

Enjoy!!!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on joining the CB650F club! Ya know, the one all the "cool people" have!
Thanks! Definitely feel like this is the bike for the cool dudes to have. Can’t wait to break this baby in to see what it’s got at the higher revs.
