Hi,

I just riden my bike for almost a month now.

One thing i found out is that.

It's really hard to find the neutral on this bike (cbr650r).

I installed a racetorx like kit to support the issue.

Thing is I'm worried due to neutral is hard to find. I tend to squeeze my clutch a lot. Which could ruin my clutch lining.

Any technique or any advise on how to fix this?

I never experienced this on my N400. All was smooth.

Care to advise anyone so frustrated. Because i like this bike.

Thank you and kindest regards,
Mac

Lower your lever a bit, that usually helps. How many miles on the bike? The motors and transmissions usually need a couple thousand miles before they fully seat and get smooth.

It would take a lot of clutch use to affect the life of a properly adjusted wet clutch. I wouldn’t over think it.

Try to select neutral as you come to a halt. I always do that, though if it’s necessary mine selects neutral from first or second gear whilst stationary easily enough. A slack chain or too much clearance on the clutch lever can cause selection difficulties. I don’t know what a racetorq or similar kit is but it shouldn’t be necessary.

My bike is new is about 80km i think.
I would like to take this on the dealer so that the mechanic could pin point what is the culprit.

We adjusted the clutch on 6 (had installed an after market clutch lever on this. But even the stock i had the same issue.)

On my N400 i had no problem finding my Neut.
So sad i couldn't enjoy this bike due to this issue. Will schedule to go to my dealer.

When on stop light. I usually turn off my engine. Hold clutch and pick up the stand. Then use my right hand to find my neut. ( i dunno my hand was able to find the neutral easily. I tried to mimic this on my left foot. But i cnt seem to do what my hand could do.maybe because my hand pressure is diff.)

With only 80km on it I would take it to the dealer and adjust the lever down a tick but I also think you just need to learn the bike, what it wants and how to shift it. Every bike is different and some take adjusting to before it works for you, aftermarket levers aren’t helping. On my Ducati you had to shift it into neutral while rolling to a stop and was happiest coming from second into neutral not from first and back up.

Turning the bike off and doing it by hand is a drastic measure, but if the motor not spinning gets you into neutral then I’m pretty certain you have a clutch adjustment issue. If your cable has too much free play, like you’re trying to get the friction point closer to the lever, you’ll have your exact symptom. Try reducing your free play to factory spec after putting the factory lever back on.
