Is it worth purchasing an extended warranty?

If I was looking at a new sportbike for ‘26 or ‘27 I’d have a strong look at the KTM RC990R, R9 or possibly the new Ducati V2S. If I didn’t have my Street Triple (which if you can get past the looks and no fairing is an AMAZING middleweight) I’d be looking at one of them.

The GSX8R I wanted to love but it’s just so meh, the 660 Trident is an odd bike that I can’t figure out the need (maybe a Trident 800 would be better?) and the R7 is cool but the R9 seems to me a better upgrade from the 650.

If I was stepping away from sporty a Tiger 800 sport would also be (and is) on my radar. I love a good sportbike, have for 30 years, but once you go comfy/sporty bike it’s hard to go back. Maybe an Aprilia 660 Tuono?

I've had Gixers prior to my CBR650R.
Might be time to change to something else.

Maybe a naked... like the Hornet 1000? Or something more touring... like the new CB 1000 GT?
Both models are sporty but different than sportbikes...

Oh man, too bad. Lots of VERY nice non-Japanese bikes out there; used to be a Honda/Yamaha guy and started straying. Have not regretted it.

Dealer wants £2650 to change my 8.5 month old bike for a new one to be registered in March. That won't be happening.

I am tempted to get something else next year but the GSX8R, Triumph 660 or Yamaha R7 don't do it for me.

Love my sportsbikes but perhaps it's time to go for something different.

I bought the extended for my 650, and never used it (thankfully).

Peace of mind is worth a lot, though.

With the eclutch fairly new and more to go wrong on modern bikes, peace of mind is very important.

Fair point on the eclutch. Not cheap to replace. Luckily if it fails the bike can still be ridden normally unlike a DCT/full auto clutch. Unless you’ve forgotten how to use a clutch lever by then 😉

I always liked a lot of yellow Triumphs. Like the old Daytona Super III
That yellow mixed with black parts it's a great combination.

But for one reason or another never bought one.

Owner off many many bikes over the years this is my first triumph!
And would say I'm loving it but hardly been able to ride her as weather in the UK 🇬🇧 is horrendous at the moment 😭

Lots of water here in Portugal this winter. Sometimes I don't know if I'm riding a bike or a boat! 😅
But the Road 6 are amazing! Impressive traction on wet! They can even make riding on wet... fun! 😁
