Hi All,

Thought I'd check in on this forum since I bought a 2016 Honda CBR650F with 1,700 miles on it a month ago. Fun bike but a little soft in the suspension if I'm gonna be honest. I plan on taking it to a few track days and am wondering if anyone has any opinion on how it is on track. I just put on some Diablo Rosso ii's and am liking them so far. My goal was to get an R6 but the insurance was out the roof. It has all the mods, new rearsets, fender eliminator. chain, shifters, mirrors, exhaust etc.

The other complaint I had was how much this bike vibrates - anyway around this? I go on long hauls all the time and my feet almost go numb with all the vibration. Also, the seat isn't super ideal. Any tips?

Looking forward to learning more about this bike and glad I found this forum!

Cheers,
Abbie Leigh

Welcome!!!!

Have a good look through the forum, many have had theirs to the track. The Ohlins upgrade of a new shock and the fork springs/oil setup really tightens the bike up and makes it a great, friendly track capable bike for around $1k.

As far as a vibes, it will smooth out as the engine breaks in and synthetic oil is used. Most notice the engine smoothing around the 2,500 mile mark and gets better to around the 4K or so area where it’s fully ready to go. There are others who say that’s BS and you just get used to it but after 30+ bikes I’m pretty in tune with what’s happening and the above is what happened with mine.

If you can’t deal with them try heavier bar ends, grip puppies and go back to the stock rearsets with the rubber pegs and that will help.

Lots of info on here. Have fun reading about it!!!!

From a fellow newbie, welcome to the Club Abbie, With regards to the vibration there's not really much you can do other than changing the bar end weights and swapping to rubberised pedals as mentioned above.

I've seen several people giving great reviews for the CBR's as track bikes! so good luck with yours
