Plastic flap behind the Radiator

Hey folks, I accidentally noticed that a flap exists between the engine and the radiator fan! It was twisted in a very dangerous way, pressed on the back of the radiator and very close to the fan fins. Wth is it to begin with? A sort of heat barrier or something? I pushed it in and its now laying flat on the engine block. The top end of it is screwed to the top of the radiator… I am paranoid that it gets melted now :))

Number 19. I can send some pics later, but this is it. Those two holes sit on top of the radiator and the flap it self goes behind the fan and rest on the engine block which seems weird. I am wondering if it got loose and this not supposed to happen

That is in mine and just sits above the fan. There's also the rubber heat shield that goes across the engine in there.

I can't get a pic from the cbr without taking the fairings off.

Is it touching the engine? I think if its a heat shield, it is resilient to heat!!!

The rubber sheet lays on top of the engine. The little plastic flap does not. I might have a pic on the computer while I was doing the valves.
