Hey...has anyone had electrical issues? I have a 2020 cb650r and last week all electrical components where just down...dealer says faulty battery and fried the wire harness and will be there for about a week...its my dad currently and they do not wish to give me a loaner in current time while I wait
Any advice on what I should do?
And now I'm scared to modify exhaust, tune it and risk losing warranty, anyone see a similar issue like me?

No I haven’t heard about any electrical problems with these bikes. Honda is using the Yuasa battery’s and they are good. Let the dealer sort out and fix the problem. Did you install something electrical lately ?

They cannot void your warranty if you install an aftermarket exhaust. They just will not cover any damage if your exhaust burns something up, which it shouldn‘t if you choose a reputable supplier and install it according to the instructions.

Ok that is good to know...but what if it gets an aftermarket tine?

I’d say for the time being I’d leave anything to do with the electrical system stock including turn signals, brake lights, and even levers until your bike is well out of warranty. My guess is this was a fluke but as stated if they see something that “could” cause a possible issue, they will use it to deny warranty coverage. If it were my bike I’d lay very low on mods for a while to be sure nothing else is amiss or was damaged.

As far as a tune goes, Honda doesn’t leave massive amounts of power at the table so you won’t see huge differences in a tune despite what many claim. You’ll find it possibly idling smoother, running cooler and a more consistent throttle if the tune is done right and done well but again, as much as people say it’s night and day different, it’s really not. Different, yes, not drastic. So don’t be in a huge rush thinking it’ll turn your mild mannered steed into a race ready thoroughbred because it won’t.
