Hi all, been thinking about replacing my sliders which are the single point mount kind since I've been reading here that there are instances where a simple slow speed tip over can crack the engine mount because of the single point of contact. Haven't seen those pics personally though, just read it here.
Anyway, I was looking at the sliders, and while they are mounted on the frame itself first (green arrows) the bolt goes through to the engine mount (yellow arrows) which is probably why the engine mount cracks upon impact since a single point of load is too much stress for the engine mount.
Anyhow, I saw these on aliexpress, although they are from china, the mounting is 2 points which hopefully will disperse enough of the energy in a little tip over so as to not crack the engine case.
Haven't seen other reputable brands carry the same 2 point mount sliders so I guess AliExpress it is for now. I'm trying to stay away from the engine cage which 3 mounts since it makes the bike look a bit bulky and it isn't an adventure bike anyway to be carrying something like that.
Anybody try these 2 point sliders yet? Cheers.
