Ok so this will take a different turn (I hope) than other crash protection threads. I’ve looked through a lot and can’t find what I’m looking for.

I’m looking for some sort of drop damper, ie adhesive foam pads or some sort of thing like that you can put on the main contact points.
I’m trying a lot of aggressive low speed maneuvers. I’ve been training for a couple hours a day. I’m not out on public roads, mainly old parking lots. I haven’t dropped my bike yet but it’ll probably happen.
I don’t want frame sliders or crash bars because 💰 💰 and I don’t want them on all the time.

I’ve heard fill some old dufflebags full of clothes and strap them to the sides, and that could work brilliantly but I’m wondering if anyone else has any other ideas.

I understand the bike is meant to be ridden, and dents and dings are considered battle scars yada yada… But I just don’t want those dents and dings in the process of becoming a better rider.

Not sure what different turn you are hoping for, but putting old dufflebags with clothes around the bike sounds as effective as a handwoven condom.

If you ever do it, please share a photo.

You sent me down a hilarious rabbit hole of motorbikes in bubbles and bubble wrapping bikes to people riding around with quilts on a bike.

Thanks for the laugh I needed it today! 🤣

Not sure what the answer is.

Duffle bags and other "protection" will cause as much damage to the bodywork as a wreck would. Think of a nylon duffle filled with clothes, there are zippers, dirt and crap get between the bag and plastic, they'll all move in a tip over, whatever straps you have holding it down will scratch or crack the plastic, the issues with that are endless.......

Seriously speaking, if you are doing "a lot of aggressive low speed maneuvers" and are afraid of dropping the bike either don't be so aggressive (I can't even see how doing anything aggressive would be helping you become a better rider????) or skip a few nights out and get yourself some good quality sliders because you're going to f it up regardless.

I recently did an i2i machine control in the UK, he had some brackets with hard black plastic that bolted on and off his frame (triumph street triple 765) so that he could lay the bike down on its side to show grip levels, these were so low you couldnt get a leg between the bike and the floor. These were removed but clearly the bike had been ridden with them on as the plastic hard scrape marks like knee sliders get.
